Having one of the drawings from the series Rébus on a wall in Manhattan is a huge source of Joy. Overall Murals, who made it, contacted me to know if I would be willing to collaborate with them on this project. I made this were is of drawings for an art festival in France in many cities called Nuit Blanche. The first time the drawings were printed on posters dispatched in places in the city of Mayenne. Since then the drawings are travelling from Mayenne to the streets of Saint Petersburg, then on pins in Tokyo or in a TV show in Canada, and here in Nolita on this mural. In my opinion this is the best way for an artwork to live, flying away from the studio and traveling by itself to be part of the outside world an being appropriated by others.
