All Together
Obama Presidential Center Museum
All Together is a permanent installation commissioned by The Obama Presidential Center Museum in Chicago. It is a digital mural displayed on an immersive circular screen located on the fifth floor of the museum. The drawings featured on the mural are composed of hundreds of thousands of hand-placed dots each representing an individual, they come together to create hopeful, everyday scenes.
Each scene explores a different theme closely connected to President Obama's vision. They depict real and tangible moments that concern us all: going to school, receiving medical care, earning a living, reuniting with loved ones, and many others. The images flow, dots composing and recomposing, reflecting the notion that democratic society is not fixed but ever-evolving. The mural is also interactive, visitors can add their names to join the constellation of many dots in a way that represents their place in the project of democracy.
All Together is the result of more than two years fully dedicated to this project, a collaborative work of many with the wonderful people of the Obama Fondation.
